The VolcMiner D1 Hydro is a water-cooled Scrypt miner and the highest-hashrate single unit in VolcMiner's range. Its place in our catalog is hashrate density: the most Scrypt hashrate VolcMiner offers in one quiet, water-cooled box, for operators who want to concentrate output.
What Scrypt mines. Scrypt is Litecoin's algorithm, and because Dogecoin is merge-mined with Litecoin, the D1 Hydro earns both at once, Litecoin as the primary chain and Dogecoin alongside it on the same work, with no extra power for the second coin. Its 30.4 GH/s is high combined Litecoin and Dogecoin output for a single machine.
Hashrate and efficiency, stated plainly. At 7,600W for 30.4 GH/s the D1 Hydro runs at 250 J/GH. The hashrate leads VolcMiner's lineup, but the efficiency does not lead anything, it is the least efficient hydro unit we sell. We say this clearly because efficiency is what compounds in mining: at 250 J/GH your electricity rate has to be low for the economics to work as well as a more efficient miner would at the same hashrate.

Yes. The D1 Hydro connects to a facility's liquid-cooling loop, the coolant distribution, manifolds and plumbing. It is not a plug-and-play air-cooled box. Our hydro-equipped facilities already have that infrastructure, so hosting there removes the burden entirely.
It depends on the Litecoin and Dogecoin price, the Scrypt network difficulty and your electricity rate, and at 250 J/GH the electricity rate matters a lot here. There is no fixed figure.
