MicroBT Whatsminer M72 246 TH/s Air Cooled SHA 256 Bitcoin Miner

The MicroBT Whatsminer M72 is the base model in the 4 kW air cooled tier, producing 246 TH/s at 4,000W on 380 to 480V three phase. Standard bin chips versus the M72S at 264 TH/s. The efficiency difference is small: roughly 16.3 versus 15.2 J/TH.

The M72 exists for one reason: maximum unit count per dollar of hardware budget. In bulk fleet orders where every unit costs the same to power (4 kW) and the same to cool (air), the deciding factor is how many total terahashes you deploy before running out of capital. The M72's lower per unit price means more machines on the floor.

Same physical chassis as the M72S: 367 x 200 x 296mm at 25.5 kg. Same fan system. Same firmware. Same 380 to 480V three phase requirement. Everything is interchangeable in a mixed M72/M72S deployment. Many operators order a combination of both bins, filling their budget with a mix that balances total hashrate against average fleet efficiency.
