The MicroBT Whatsminer M73S produces 500 TH/s at 7,200W in the same 4U hydro cooled rack chassis as the M73S+ (540 TH/s) and M73 (470 TH/s). Mid bin chips: above standard grade, below top.

Rack density: 10 units per 42U rack at 5 PH/s and 72 kW. The M73S+ rack produces 5.4 PH/s. The M73 rack produces 4.7 PH/s. Same power per rack regardless of bin.

Mid bin in the hydro tier follows the same economics as mid bin in immersion: typically the best balance between acquisition cost and per terahash efficiency. The M73S+ charges a premium for top grade chips. The M73 is cheapest per unit. The M73S sits between, offering better efficiency than base at a smaller premium than top.

Efficiency at approximately 14.4 J/TH. Water cooled with standard closed loop connections. 483 x 663 x 86mm at 29.5 kg. 380 to 480V three phase. Ethernet connectivity. temperature rated 5 to 45 degrees C, standard humidity range. M70 generation. Mines Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, and all SHA 256 coins.

For data center operators familiar with water cooled server infrastructure, the M73 series deploys without the learning curve and capital cost of immersion. Standard racks, standard water connections, familiar maintenance procedures.

The 4U form factor matters for facilities with existing rack infrastructure. Immersion requires purpose built tank systems that cannot repurpose standard racks. The M73S drops into the same 19 inch cabinets used for servers, switches, and other data center equipment. For operators expanding from compute or storage into mining, the M73 series uses the same physical infrastructure they already own and understand.

MicroBT firmware and fleet management tools work across all M70 generation models. An operator running M73S hydro units alongside M79S immersion units or M70S+ air cooled units manages the entire fleet from the same interface.
