MicroBT Whatsminer M73S+ 540 TH/s Hydro Cooled 4U SHA 256 Bitcoin Miner

The MicroBT Whatsminer M73S+ produces 540 TH/s at 7,200W in a 4U hydro cooled server rack chassis. It is the top bin model in the M73 series, MicroBT's rack mount hydro tier in the M70 generation.

Hydro cooling is different from immersion. The M73S+ does not submerge in fluid. Water flows through internal channels in a sealed 4U chassis, absorbing heat and carrying it to an external cooling loop. The unit mounts in a standard 19 inch server rack alongside other equipment. This is the same infrastructure approach used in data centers worldwide for high density compute hardware.

A standard 42U rack holds 10 M73S+ units (factoring in space for manifolds and cable management), producing 5.4 PH/s at 72 kW per rack. Compare to immersion: a tank of M79S units needs custom tank infrastructure. A rack of M73S+ units needs standard server racks and water lines. For facilities that already operate water cooled data center hardware, the M73 series integrates without specialized immersion infrastructure.

Efficiency at approximately 13.3 J/TH. 483 x 663 x 86mm at 29.5 kg. 380 to 480V three phase. Ethernet connectivity. temperature rated 5 to 45 degrees C, standard humidity range. Mines Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, and all SHA 256 coins. M70 generation from Bitcoin MENA 2025.

The water cooling system is significantly simpler than immersion. Closed loop water circulation uses off the shelf pumps, standard plumbing fittings, and common water glycol coolant. Immersion requires specialized dielectric fluid at higher cost per liter, custom tanks, and more complex fluid management. For data center operators already experienced with liquid cooled compute servers, the M73 series cooling is familiar territory.
