Maximum Blake3 hashrate Goldshell delivers at 35 dB. Everything above (AL Box 3, E-AL1M, AL Max) crosses into 50 to 55 dB audible territory.
Third generation AL Box series. 950 GH/s at 0.484 J/GH versus original AL Box at 360 GH/s and 0.50 J/GH. More hashrate, better efficiency.
198 x 150 x 87 mm at 2.2 kg. Universal voltage. $0.88 daily electricity at $0.08/kWh. Accumulate ALPH at coffee money daily cost.
950 GH/s Blake3 at 460W and 0.484 J/GH efficiency. ±5 percent tolerance on both hashrate and power. This is Goldshell's third generation desktop Alephium miner and the highest output unit that maintains 35 dB silent operation. Above this model, Goldshell's AL Box 3 pushes to 1.25 TH/s but jumps to 50 dB, and the AL Max reaches 8.3 TH/s at 55 dB.
AL Box (360 GH/s, 180W, 0.50 J/GH, first gen). AL Box 2 (720 GH/s, approximately 360W, 0.50 J/GH, doubled output). AL Box II Pro (950 GH/s, 460W, 0.484 J/GH, this product). Each generation increased hashrate while maintaining 35 dB silence and the same compact form factor. The II Pro delivers 2.6 times the original at slightly better efficiency per gigahash. For buyers choosing between models, the II Pro delivers the most hashrate before noise increases. The original AL Box retains value only at deep discount pricing.
IceRiver AL0 at 400 GH/s and 100W (0.25 J/GH). AL Box II Pro at 950 GH/s and 460W (0.484 J/GH). The AL0 is approximately 48 percent more efficient per gigahash but produces less than half the total daily ALPH output. Daily electricity: AL0 at $0.19 versus AL Box II Pro at $0.88 at $0.08 per kWh. For operators minimizing cost per coin, the AL0 wins. For operators maximizing total daily accumulation from a desktop device, the AL Box II Pro wins. Your electricity rate and ALPH price outlook determine which approach delivers better returns.
At standard residential rates, no. MillionMiner calculator at $0.08 per kWh: -$0.74 daily. Revenue approximately $0.14 daily at April 2026 ALPH price and network difficulty. ASIC deployment on Alephium since 2024 has compressed per unit revenue dramatically. Mining on the AL Box II Pro is a speculative accumulation strategy at approximately $0.88 daily electricity cost. The daily loss is roughly the price of a large coffee. The thesis rests on future ALPH appreciation from ecosystem development or exchange listing catalysts.
External PSU required, not included with the miner per most distributor documentation. Specifications per Jingle Mining: 600W+ capacity, 100 to 240V input, 16A power cable, 3x 6-pin PCIE output connectors. Standard PC power supplies rated 600W or above with multiple PCIE connectors work. Verify PSU inclusion with MillionMiner before ordering since MM lists PSU in box contents while most other distributors ship without. If PSU is not included, budget $40 to $80 for a compatible unit.
MM and Newegg list 35 dB. Jingle Mining lists ≤55 dB. This discrepancy is significant: 35 dB is whisper quiet (inaudible from the next room), 55 dB is noticeable fan noise behind a closed door. If 35 dB is accurate, the AL Box II Pro operates in bedrooms and offices without detection. If 55 dB is the real world figure, it is still manageable but comparable to a quiet refrigerator rather than inaudible. Verify with MillionMiner which specification matches the shipped units before committing based on noise expectations.
Alephium is a sharded proof of work blockchain using the Blake3 mining algorithm. The architecture runs 16 parallel chains across 4 groups for throughput scaling while retaining PoW consensus security. Supports smart contracts through the Alphred virtual machine on a stateful UTXO model. ALPH is listed on Gate.io, MEXC, and other exchanges. Positions as a scalable PoW smart contract platform, a category with very few competitors. Whether the technical differentiation translates to adoption and token value is the speculative question miners are betting on.
Universal 100 to 240V through the external PSU. At 460W total draw, the PSU pulls approximately 4.2 amps at 110V or 2.1 amps at 220V from the wall outlet. Fits any standard residential circuit worldwide. No dedicated infrastructure needed. Monthly electricity at $0.08 per kWh: approximately $26.50.
198 x 150 x 87 mm per Newegg and Jingle Mining at approximately 2.2 kg. MM lists 198 x 150 x 96 mm and 3.7 kg which may reflect packaging or different measurement points. Two fans at 4,500 RPM. Roughly the size of a thick paperback book. Sits on any desk or shelf alongside consumer electronics. External PSU adds separate space but standard PC PSUs are compact. Not significantly larger than the original AL Box.
Jingle Mining and Goldshell.net specify 0 to 35 degrees Celsius. MM lists 5 to 45 degrees Celsius. Newegg lists 5 to 45 degrees Celsius at 5 to 95 percent humidity. The discrepancies across sources suggest verifying with Goldshell's official specification. The 35 degree ceiling appears in multiple authoritative sources and matters for warm climate deployments. Air conditioned space recommended during hot months in Gulf region or tropical environments.
Six models covering desktop silent to industrial. AL Box (360 GH/s, 35 dB, first gen, first Alephium ASIC). AL Box 2 (720 GH/s, 35 dB). AL Box II Pro (950 GH/s, 35 dB, this product). AL Box 3 (1.25 TH/s, 50 dB, first step above silent). E-AL1M (4.4 TH/s, 45 dB). AL Max (8.3 TH/s, 55 dB, industrial flagship). Plus IceRiver offers the AL0 (400 GH/s desktop) and AL2 Lite (2 TH/s) as competing manufacturer alternatives. Goldshell dominates the Alephium hardware market by breadth of product line.
Four step setup. Connect external PSU to miner using 3x 6-pin PCIE cables (source PSU separately if not included). Plug PSU into any 100 to 240V outlet. Connect Ethernet cable to router or switch. Find miner IP through Goldshell finder tool, router DHCP, or network scanner. Open web interface, configure Blake3 pool URL and ALPH wallet address. Goldshell mobile app supports iOS and Android configuration. Total setup approximately 10 to 15 minutes (slightly longer if sourcing and connecting an external PSU for the first time).
Major Alephium Blake3 mining pools accept AL Box II Pro hashrate including Herominers, Metapool, Woolypooly, and others. NiceHash Blake3 marketplace provides an alternative selling hashrate for Bitcoin. Pool fees typically 1 to 2 percent. At 950 GH/s against current Alephium network hashrate (well above 20 PH/s), pool mining is the only practical approach for consistent returns. Solo mining at this hashrate produces extremely infrequent block finds.
Yes. Each unit operates independently with its own PSU and Ethernet. At 460W each with separate PSUs, a 15 amp 110V circuit (1,800W capacity) supports approximately 3 units (1,380W miner draw plus PSU overhead). Configure all units to the same pool and wallet. Three units produce approximately 2.85 TH/s aggregate, exceeding the AL Box 3's 1.25 TH/s at quieter collective noise (35 dB each versus AL Box 3 at 50 dB).
MM body copy references WiFi and Goldshell app compatibility. Jingle Mining and Newegg spec sheets list "Only Ethernet" as the connection interface. The original AL Box included a WiFi antenna. Verify WiFi capability with MillionMiner for the specific AL Box II Pro firmware version shipped. For stable mining performance, wired Ethernet is preferred regardless.
Minimal. Quarterly dust wipe of chassis and two fan grilles. Monitor hashrate through Goldshell web interface or mobile app for degradation. No coolant, no filters, no internal servicing. Released September to October 2024, units have approximately 18 months of field reliability data. Solid state hardware with only two small fans as moving parts. 6 month Goldshell warranty on new units.
MillionMiner technically accepts AL Box II Pro units, but hosting economics at 460W generating approximately $0.14 daily revenue make the arrangement impractical. Hosting fees would exceed mining revenue at any realistic rate tier. The AL Box II Pro is designed for self hosted desktop deployment where the operator absorbs electricity cost as part of a speculative ALPH accumulation strategy.
AL Box 3 at 1.25 TH/s and 50 dB. AL Box II Pro at 950 GH/s and 35 dB (this product). The AL Box 3 delivers approximately 32 percent more hashrate at 15 dB more noise. The acoustic difference: 35 dB is inaudible from the next room, 50 dB is noticeable behind a closed door. For operators where silence is non negotiable (shared spaces, bedrooms), the AL Box II Pro is the choice. For operators with a dedicated room where 50 dB is acceptable, the AL Box 3 delivers more ALPH per day.
The AL Box II Pro is not profitable at April 2026 conditions. It loses approximately $0.74 daily at $0.08 per kWh. Buy if: you want the maximum Blake3 hashrate Goldshell delivers at 35 dB for silent home deployment, you are accumulating ALPH speculatively at approximately $0.88 daily electricity cost betting on future price appreciation, you want a functional desktop Alephium miner with Goldshell's app ecosystem, or you are building a multi unit quiet ALPH mining fleet. For higher hashrate at acceptable noise, the AL Box 3 (1.25 TH/s, 50 dB) or IceRiver AL2 Lite (2 TH/s) step up meaningfully. For lower daily electricity cost at less hashrate, the IceRiver AL0 (400 GH/s, 100W) is more efficient per coin.
Within Goldshell Alephium lineup for scaling: AL Box 3 (1.25 TH/s, 50 dB, next step above silent), E-AL1M (4.4 TH/s, 45 dB), AL Max (8.3 TH/s, 55 dB industrial). Earlier generations at lower cost: AL Box 2 (720 GH/s), original AL Box (360 GH/s). Competing manufacturer: IceRiver AL0 (400 GH/s, more efficient per GH), IceRiver AL2 Lite (2 TH/s). For cross algorithm niche mining at same 35 dB tier: Goldshell KA Box (1.18 TH/s Kaspa), Goldshell HS Box II (460 GH/s HNS / 1,200 GH/s SC), Goldshell KD Box II (5 TH/s Kadena), Goldshell CK Box II (2.1 TH/s Nervos), iBeLink BM-N3 Mini (1.8 TH/s Nervos). For Bitcoin at home tier: Bitaxe Gamma 601 (1.2 TH/s SHA-256).
