Four firmware selectable modes. Default HNS: 460 GH/s Handshake at 400W. Default SC: 1,200 GH/s Siacoin (Blake2B-Sia) at 325W. Low Power HNS: 310 GH/s at 260W. Low Power SC: 900 GH/s at 220W. ±5 percent tolerance on all modes. Switch through Goldshell web interface or mobile app. One mode active at a time, not simultaneous.
Yes, in two SC modes. Default SC delivers 1,200 GH/s at 325W. Low Power SC delivers 900 GH/s at 220W. This is a substantial upgrade over the original HS Box which produced only 470 GH/s SC. The 1,200 GH/s SC output approaches the HS3 SE's 1,860 GH/s from a 35 dB desktop format versus the HS3 SE's 55 dB. MM's product page currently lists only HNS mode; the SC capability and both low power modes are missing from the listing.
Low Power HNS: 310 GH/s at 260W. Low Power SC: 900 GH/s at 220W. Use them when daily revenue does not justify default mode power draw. Low Power SC at 220W costs approximately $0.42 daily at $0.08 per kWh versus default HNS at $0.77. During extended bear markets where both HNS and SC revenue is depressed, low power modes cut daily electricity loss by 35 to 45 percent while maintaining meaningful hashrate. The original HS Box lacked low power modes entirely.
Original HS Box (May 2021): HNS at 235 GH/s / 230W, SC at 470 GH/s / 130W, no low power modes. HS Box II (January 2024): HNS at 460 GH/s / 400W, SC at 1,200 GH/s / 325W, plus two low power modes. HNS hashrate doubled. SC hashrate more than doubled. Plus operational flexibility the original completely lacked. Same 35 dB, same form factor, same 2 kg, same universal voltage. If both are available, the HS Box II is the straightforward upgrade.
35 dB from two cooling fans at 4,500 RPM. Inaudible from the next room with any door between. Operates in bedrooms, home offices, shared living spaces, and apartments without detection. Consistent across all four operating modes since the fan architecture is the same regardless of algorithm or power mode selection. The entire Goldshell Box series maintains 35 dB as its acoustic standard.
HS Lite at 1,360 GH/s HNS / 2,900 GH/s SC and 50 dB. HS Box II at 460 GH/s HNS / 1,200 GH/s SC and 35 dB. The HS Lite delivers approximately 3 times the HNS hashrate and 2.4 times the SC hashrate at 15 dB more noise. The HS Box II offers four operating modes (the HS Lite has two) and stays 15 dB quieter. For operators where the difference between 35 dB (inaudible through a wall) and 50 dB (noticeable behind a closed door) matters, the HS Box II wins on acoustics. For operators chasing maximum hashrate from the quiet tier, the HS Lite wins on output.
Universal 100 to 240V AC with built in PSU. Default HNS at 400W draws approximately 3.6 amps at 110V. Low Power SC at 220W draws approximately 2 amps at 110V. All four modes sit within any standard residential outlet capacity worldwide. No external PSU, no voltage considerations, no circuit planning. Plug in and mine.
At standard residential electricity rates, no mode produces positive margin at April 2026 conditions. MillionMiner calculator at $0.08 per kWh: -$0.58 daily in default HNS mode. SC modes may perform differently depending on Siacoin token price at the time of operation. Low Power SC at 220W produces the smallest daily loss at approximately $0.42 daily electricity. Mining on the HS Box II is a speculative accumulation strategy at small daily cost, not a profitable daily operation. The four mode flexibility lets operators minimize daily loss while following whichever token shows better economics.
Goldshell specifies 0 to 35 degrees Celsius at 0 to 65 percent humidity. MM lists 5 to 45 degrees Celsius at 10 to 90 percent humidity which differs from manufacturer documentation across Bitcoin Merch, ASIC Marketplace, CryptoMinerBros, and Yesmining. The 35 degree ceiling means warm climate deployments need air conditioned space during hot months. The 0 to 65 percent humidity range is tighter than typical ASICs and matters for tropical or humid coastal deployments.
178 x 150 x 84 mm at 2 kg. Same dimensions and weight as the original HS Box. Roughly the size of a hardcover book. Built in PSU means no external power supply box. Two fans at 4,500 RPM. 10A power cable included. Fits on any desk, shelf, or countertop alongside consumer electronics. The smallest and lightest four mode dual algorithm miner available.
Handshake decentralizes DNS root zone records through blockchain based domain ownership auctions, replacing ICANN controlled resolution. HNS is the native token for registration, renewal, and transfer. The thesis: decentralized internet naming infrastructure will capture share from traditional registrars. Exchange availability has narrowed since 2023. Research HNS token liquidity, active development, and community trajectory before committing hardware.
Siacoin powers the Sia decentralized cloud storage network. Users rent unused hard drive space through smart contracts with SC as payment. Sia competes with AWS S3 and Filecoin on distributed storage pricing. SC maintains broader exchange support than HNS with active development on the Sia V2 protocol upgrade. For dual algorithm miners like the HS Box II, SC typically offers more liquid token exit paths than HNS.
Three step setup. Plug the HS Box II into any 100 to 240V outlet using the included power cable (built in PSU). Connect Ethernet cable to router or switch. Find miner IP through Goldshell finder tool, router DHCP, or network scanner. Open web interface, select operating mode (Default HNS, Default SC, Low Power HNS, or Low Power SC), configure pool URL and wallet address. Goldshell mobile app supports configuration for iOS and Android. Total setup approximately 10 minutes.
HNS modes: 6block, AntPool (3 percent PPS), DxPool (3 percent PPS+), ViaBTC (4 percent PPS+, 2 percent PPLNS), Poolflare. SC modes: F2Pool, SiaMining, Luxor, and other Blake2B-Sia pools. Pool availability shifts over time; verify operational status before deployment. Pool fees typically 1 to 4 percent on HNS, 1 to 3 percent on SC.
Yes. The HS Box II includes a built in power supply unit. No external PSU to purchase or match. Plug the included 10A power cable directly into any standard 100 to 240V outlet. Consistent with Goldshell's Box series design where the PSU is internal. Bitcoin Merch and CryptoMinerBros list "with PSU" in their HS Box II product titles confirming PSU inclusion.
Yes. Each unit operates independently. In default HNS mode at 400W each, a standard 15 amp 110V circuit (1,800W capacity) supports four units (1,600W total). In Low Power SC at 220W each, the same circuit supports eight units (1,760W total). Configure all units to the same pool and wallet. Four default HNS units produce approximately 1,840 GH/s aggregate, exceeding the HS Lite's 1,360 GH/s from a multi unit desktop deployment at 35 dB collective noise.
MM body copy references WiFi and Goldshell app compatibility. Goldshell Box series products have progressively added WiFi support across firmware updates. Bitcoin Merch spec sheet lists "Only Ethernet" as the connection port. Verify WiFi capability with MillionMiner for the specific firmware version shipped. For most stable mining performance, wired Ethernet is preferred regardless of WiFi availability.
Minimal. Quarterly dust wipe of the compact chassis and two fan grilles. Monitor hashrate through Goldshell web interface or mobile app for degradation. No coolant, no filters, no internal servicing. Released January 2024, units have over two years of field reliability data. Solid state hardware with only two small fans as moving parts. 180 day Goldshell warranty on new units.
The HS Box II is the best device in Goldshell's HS series for operators who want four mode flexibility across two algorithms from a 35 dB desktop form factor. It is not profitable at standard electricity rates. Buy the HS Box II if: you want to accumulate HNS or SC tokens at minimal daily cost ($0.42 to $0.77 depending on mode), you value four mode flexibility to follow whichever token and power tier produces the best economics, you need 35 dB silent operation for shared living or working spaces, or you want to participate in both decentralized DNS (Handshake) and decentralized storage (Siacoin) mining from a single device. For operators wanting more hashrate from the HS family, the HS Lite at 1,360 GH/s HNS delivers approximately 3 times the output at 50 dB.
Within Goldshell HS family for scaling up: HS Lite (1,360 GH/s HNS / 2,900 GH/s SC, 50 dB mid tier), HS3 SE (930 GH/s HNS / 1,860 GH/s SC, 55 dB Silent Edition), HS3 (2 TH/s HNS, 75 dB industrial), HS5 (2,700 GH/s HNS, 75 dB industrial flagship). For cross algorithm niche mining diversification at same 35 dB tier: Goldshell KA Box (1.18 TH/s Kaspa), Goldshell KD Box II (5 TH/s Kadena), Goldshell CK Box II (2.1 TH/s Nervos), Goldshell AL Box II Pro (950 GH/s Alephium), iBeLink BM-N3 Mini (1.8 TH/s Nervos). For Bitcoin mining at home tier: Bitaxe Gamma 601 (1.2 TH/s SHA-256). For Scrypt mining at quiet home tier: Fluminer L1 Pro (6 GH/s, 45 dB).
