What does the touchscreen add over a Bitaxe without a screen?

Everything you would otherwise check in a browser sits right on the device. You see hashrate, temperature and connection at a glance and switch views with your finger, without reaching for your phone.

Does the Bitaxe Touch really do 1.6 TH/s?

Yes, 1.6 TH/s at about 22 watts is its factory setting. As with any ASIC the figure moves by a few percent with the chip and the room temperature, and the touchscreen shows the current value at all times.

Is the Bitaxe Touch worth it? Is it profitable?

It is worth it if you want to take part in the Bitcoin network yourself and watch it happen. It mines around the clock, needs little power and shows you on the touchscreen at any moment what it is doing.

What firmware runs on the Bitaxe Touch?

AxeOS, the firmware of the Bitaxe series. It is open source, runs on the ESP32-S3 inside the device and brings the settings page in your browser. The touchscreen has its own interface showing the same data.

How do I update the firmware?

Upload the new version in the AxeOS web interface and the device restarts. Your settings are kept. We are happy to tell you which version fits your unit.

Why does the screen turn off after a while?

That is the screen saver. In the settings you choose after how long it switches off, or keep it on permanently. A tap on the screen wakes it right away.

What if the screen stays dark?

First check that the supplied 5 volt adapter is plugged in firmly and restart the device once. If the screen stays dark, contact us and we help you straight away.

What Wi-Fi does the Bitaxe Touch need?

A network on the 2.4 GHz band. Many routers broadcast 2.4 and 5 GHz under the same name, in that case set up a separate 2.4 GHz network for the miner or split the bands.

How do I find the IP address of my Bitaxe Touch?

It is shown on the touchscreen, and your router lists the miner among the connected devices. Type that address into your browser to open AxeOS.

Which pool address do I enter?

The address of a solo pool, so your device can reach the Bitcoin network. You share the reward of a found block with no one. We are glad to tell you which address fits before you start.

Which wallet address do I need?

A Bitcoin address from your own wallet that only you control. Use your own wallet rather than an exchange address, because exchange deposit addresses can change.

Can I use a different power adapter?

Yes, as long as it delivers 5 volts and at least 6 amps. A 12 volt supply does not belong on the Bitaxe Touch. The supplied adapter is the safest choice.

How warm does the Bitaxe Touch get?

You see the chip temperature right on the touchscreen. The fans keep it in the safe range and only spin up when it gets warmer. The power it draws comes back out as heat, so free air at the sides is all it needs.

Can I overclock the Bitaxe Touch?

Yes, you set frequency and core voltage in AxeOS. More frequency brings a little more hashrate, costs more watts and makes the fans spin faster. For round the clock use at home we recommend the factory setting.

How do I reset the Bitaxe Touch?

AxeOS has an option to restore factory settings. The miner then opens its own Wi-Fi network again and you set it up from scratch.

Can I connect the Bitaxe Touch to my own Bitcoin node?

Yes, through your own solo pool on the node, whose address you enter in AxeOS.

Can I run several Bitaxe Touch units at once?

Yes. Each device searches for a block on its own, and all of them can use the same wallet address.

Is Bitcoin mining at home legal in the US?

Yes, mining Bitcoin with your own device is legal in the United States.

Do I have to pay tax on a found block?

How do I set up the Bitaxe Touch?

In about 5 minutes. On first start it opens its own Wi-Fi network, which you join with your phone. On the AxeOS settings page you enter your home network on the 2.4 GHz band, the pool address and your Bitcoin address. After saving it restarts and shows its figures on the touchscreen.

Bitaxe Touch or Turbo Touch?

The Turbo Touch carries two BM1370 chips, reaches about 2.15 TH/s and draws around 43 watts from a 12 volt supply for it. The Bitaxe Touch mines with one chip on half the power. If the device lives in your home around the clock, the Bitaxe Touch is the more economical choice.

Where should I put it?

Anywhere your Wi-Fi reaches and the screen stays in view. It is about as loud as a modern refrigerator, and the fans follow the temperature. A hand's width of free air at the sides is enough.
