This is the most affordable water-cooled Scrypt miner in our catalog, in stock at $6,300, and the honest version of its story is the only version worth telling. The appeal. Hydro hardware is usually priced at a premium, and the DG Hydro 1 undercuts that. It is in stock, it is quiet at 50 dB because liquid cooling moves heat without the fan noise of an air machine, and it gets you into water-cooled operation at the lowest entry price we offer. It mines Litecoin with Dogecoin merged onto the same work, so a single unit earns both coins from one power draw, exactly as any Scrypt miner does. The catch, stated first because it should be. At 6,200W for 20 GH/s, the DG Hydro 1 runs at 310 J/GH, the highest power-per-gigahash in our entire catalog. Efficiency compounds in mining: every hour, that figure decides how much of your revenue goes to the power company. At 310 J/GH a great deal does, which is why this miner only works for operators with genuinely cheap electricity. We say this plainly because selling it any other way would set you up to lose money. Because it trades efficiency for price. Most hydro miners cost more and run at low joules-per-gigahash; the DG Hydro 1 is built to a lower price point and accepts a much higher 310 J/GH in return. You are paying less upfront for a unit that costs more to run, which is the opposite of how premium hydro is usually positioned.
Only if your electricity is cheap and you specifically want quiet, in-stock water-cooling at a low entry price. We would rather lose the sale than have you buy this on expensive power and lose money on it. If running cost matters at all, a more efficient hydro unit, or even the air DG2+ within ElphaPex, is the better decision. Because the heat leaves through liquid, not loud high-speed fans. An air miner at this power would scream at around 75 dB to move the same heat with airflow; a hydro unit pushes it into a coolant loop instead, so the machine itself stays quiet at 50 dB. The noise saving is real even though the power draw is high.
