MicroBT Whatsminer M50S 128TH Standard Air Cooled SHA-256 Bitcoin Miner

One step above the M50 base. The M50S at 128 TH/s pushes 12 percent more hashrate than the base (114 TH/s) at slightly less power (3,276W versus 3,306W). Better chips, more output, marginally better efficiency. The first meaningful upgrade within the M50 product family.

At roughly 25.6 J/TH, the M50S improves on the base M50 (29.0 J/TH) by about 12 percent. That efficiency gain compounds over a fleet and over months. The M50S is the better value unless the base M50 is disproportionately cheaper.

Daily electricity at $0.07 per kWh: $5.50. Monthly: $165. Slightly less than the base M50 ($167) for 12 percent more hashrate. 75 dB. 220 to 240V. MicroBT Whatsminer firmware. Ethernet.

The M50S competes against the Bitmain S19 Pro++ (125 TH/s, 3,250W) and Canaan A1366 (130 TH/s, 3,250W) in the 125 to 130 TH/s class. Three manufacturers, similar output, similar power. Buy the cheapest per terahash.

125 x 225 x 425mm at 23.5 kg. 100-240V input. Ethernet. 5 - 45 °C. MicroBT firmware. Daily electricity $5.5 at $0.07 per kWh. Monthly: $165. Compare against Bitcoin revenue at 128 TH/s.

The Whatsminer M50S earns its cost through Bitcoin production at 128 TH/s. Subtract $5.5 daily electricity. the Whatsminer M50S pays for itself when cumulative net daily revenue passes the purchase price plus any PSU cost for the investment to make sense.

Bitcoin mining economics: BTC price, biweekly difficulty adjustment, and your electricity rate. Previous gen hardware competes on steep discount at cheap electricity. Model conservatively with current data before committing capital.

Whatsminer M50S 128TH Standard Air Cooled Bitcoin Miner

Higher bin M50 generation. M50S at 128 TH/s and 3,276W. 12 percent more hashrate than the base M50 (114 TH/s) at slightly less power. Same chassis. Three gens behind M70. Deep discount fleet filler on cheap power.

Air cooled at 75 dB. Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, all SHA 256. MicroBT firmware. 125 x 225 x 425mm at 23.5 kg. Ethernet. 5 - 45 °C.

Industrial 75 dB. Dedicated facility. Plan for 3276W heat exhaust.

MicroBT firmware for pool management. Compare pricing versus competitors. Total fleet hashrate determines production. Model conservatively with current data.

Industrial 75 dB demands dedicated mining space. Warehouses, containers, purpose built rooms. Plan ventilation for 3276W (11171 BTU/hr) heat per unit.

MicroBT firmware for pool configuration. Evaluate pricing against competitors. Total deployed hashrate determines production.
