MicroBT Whatsminer M53 230TH Air Cooled Rack Mount SHA-256 Bitcoin Miner

Immersion cooled, not hydro. The M53 at 230 TH/s submerges entirely in dielectric fluid rather than circulating water through internal channels. This distinction matters: immersion cooling requires specialized tanks, dielectric fluid inventory, and fluid management systems that standard hydro plumbing does not.

6,670W in an immersion environment. 50 dB from the external cooling infrastructure (fluid pumps, heat exchangers). The mining hardware itself is completely silent, submerged in fluid. Immersion cooling extends hardware lifespan by eliminating dust, vibration, and thermal cycling that air and even hydro cooling cannot fully prevent.

The M53 sits in the M50 generation. At roughly 29.0 J/TH, it trails the M60 generation (17 to 20 J/TH) and dramatically trails the M70 (12.9 J/TH). Two generations behind on efficiency. For immersion facilities already built and operating, the M53 fills tank capacity at lower capital cost than upgrading to newer immersion rated hardware.

Daily electricity at $0.07 per kWh: $11.21. Monthly: $336. MicroBT Whatsminer firmware. Ethernet. Immersion facilities are specialized infrastructure investments. The M53 serves operators with existing immersion tanks who need hardware, not operators evaluating whether to build immersion infrastructure.

86 x 482 x 663mm at 27.1 kg. AC 380~480 input. Ethernet. 5 - 45 °C. MicroBT firmware for pool configuration. Daily electricity at $0.07 per kWh: $11.21. Monthly: $336. Compare against Bitcoin mining revenue at 230 TH/s and current difficulty before purchasing.
