MicroBT Whatsminer M76 336 TH/s Immersion Cooled SHA 256 Bitcoin Miner

The MicroBT Whatsminer M76 is the base bin model at 336 TH/s and 5,200W, the entry point of the 5.2 kW immersion tier. It costs less per unit than the M76S (362 TH/s) and M76S+ (390 TH/s) while sharing their chassis, cooling, and infrastructure requirements.

Base bin exists to serve volume buyers whose binding constraint is hardware budget. When a facility has 100 kW of electrical capacity and the goal is to fill it with as much total hashrate as possible before running out of capital, the M76 at the lowest per unit price puts more machines in the tank than either higher bin.

The efficiency penalty is real but quantifiable: approximately 15.5 J/TH versus 13.3 J/TH on the M76S+. At $0.03 per kWh, the daily operating cost difference between bins is small. At $0.06 per kWh, the M76S+ saves roughly $0.30 per unit per day, which compounds across a 19 unit panel into $5.70 daily. Whether that gap justifies the acquisition premium depends on deployment horizon and capital availability.

19 units per 100 kW panel producing 6,384 TH/s total. 267 x 147 x 401mm at 18 kg. 380 to 480V three phase. Dielectric fluid immersion. Ethernet. temperature rated 5 to 45 degrees C, standard humidity range. M70 generation. Mines Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, all SHA 256 coins.

Base bin chips in the M76 are not inferior manufacturing. They are the same silicon wafer, same production line, same design. They tested below the mid and top thresholds during post fabrication quality sorting. Lower clock speeds at base grade can actually reduce thermal stress per chip over extended operational life. For multi year deployments, some operators prefer base bin specifically for the potential longevity advantage at lower operating intensity.

Whatsminer M76 336 TH/s Budget Immersion Miner in the 5kW Class

Base bin in MicroBT's 5.2 kW immersion tier. 336 TH/s at the lowest per unit cost in the M76 lineup. Same 267 x 147 x 401mm chassis at 18 kg. Same tank compatibility as the M76S+ and M76S.

Approximately 15.5 J/TH. The efficiency gap versus the M76S+ (13.3 J/TH) is roughly $0.30 per unit per day at $0.06 per kWh. Across 19 units on a 100 kW panel, that is $5.70 daily or roughly $2,080 annually. Justify the bin premium against that number at your specific power rate and deployment length.

380 to 480V three phase. Dielectric fluid. Ethernet. 5 to 45 degrees Celsius. M70 generation from Bitcoin MENA 2025. Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, all SHA 256 coins.

Base bin chips run at lower frequencies than top grade, which reduces thermal stress per chip over extended operation. Some fleet operators specifically choose base bin for multi year deployments where longevity matters as much as peak efficiency. Combined with the lower acquisition cost, this makes the M76 a defensible fleet strategy, not just a budget compromise.
