Zcash (ZEC) is a cryptocurrency that lets you keep your payments private: who sent what to whom doesn't have to be public, unlike with Bitcoin. It launched in 2016, runs on its own blockchain and is mined much like Bitcoin – just not with graphics cards, but with purpose-built machines called ASIC miners.…
That's exactly what we sell: from Bitmain's current Z15 lineup – the Z15 Pro, Z15K and Z15 – to older models like the Antminer Z11, Z9 or Innosilicon's A9 ZMaster, which we source on request. Every unit comes with the manufacturer's warranty, ships free with duties already paid, and we'll help you get it set up over the phone or on Zoom.
Not sure which miner fits your setup, or whether mining pays off at your electricity rate? Schedule a free call with our team – by phone or Zoom, whatever suits you. We'll give you an honest answer.

Zcash has been mined exclusively on ASICs since 2018 – run a graphics card on it today and you'll spend more on power than you earn. The most hashrate comes from Bitmain's Z15 lineup: the Z15 Pro at 840 kSol/s, the Z15K at 525 kSol/s and the Z15 at 420 kSol/s. Older machines like the Z11, Z9 or A9 ZMaster still run, but at today's power prices they rarely pay off. Every model also mines Komodo (KMD) and Pirate Chain (ARRR). Horizen (ZEN) can't be mined anymore since July 2025 – if a listing still promises it, it hasn't been updated in a while.
Best Efficiency
3.31
J/kSol on the Z15 Pro – the most efficient miner we carry
Algorithm
Equihash (200,9) — the algorithm behind ZEC, Komodo and Pirate Chain
Why ASIC only
GPUs left the network years ago; difficulty is set by dedicated silicon
Hashrate Range

kSol/s across the models we hold in stock
The three machines are the same idea at three sizes. What separates them is efficiency — and on a coin whose reward halved in November 2024, efficiency is the whole argument.
Antminer Z15 Pro
Built for farms and hosted racks: twice the output of the Z15 and the fastest payback of the three.

Efficiency is watts divided by hashrate — lower is better. It only compares within one algorithm, so never hold these numbers against a SHA-256 miner.
Equihash was meant to resist ASICs. It did not.
Equihash is a memory-hard proof-of-work built to keep custom hardware out. Bitmain shipped the Z9 in 2018 and settled that question. Today the entire network hashrate comes from Equihash ASICs, and difficulty is priced accordingly — which is exactly why a GPU cannot compete and why the hardware choice is the whole decision.
What the November 2024 halving changed
The block subsidy fell from 3.125 to 1.5625 ZEC, and miners keep 80 percent of that — 1.25 ZEC per block. Electricity did not get cheaper, pool fees did not drop, and hardware did not depreciate more slowly. Revenue per kSol/s roughly halved overnight. Anything you read from before that date — including a lot of guides still ranking — quietly overstates what you will earn.
What happened to Horizen (ZEN)
Horizen ran the same Equihash parameters for years, which made it the standard second coin for a Z-series machine. That ended in July 2025: Horizen left proof-of-work, migrated to Base as an EVM layer 3, and ZEN became an ERC-20 token secured by staking. There is no Horizen chain left to point a miner at. Most spec sheets, calculators and shop listings still say otherwise, several of them ranking on the first page, so check the date on anything that promises you ZEN. What remains alongside Zcash on Equihash 200,9 is Komodo (KMD) and Pirate Chain (ARRR), both on markets thin enough that payout thresholds matter more than fees.
What's Behind Zcash
Zcash launched on October 28, 2016. It was built by Zooko Wilcox and the team at the Electric Coin Company, based on a research project called Zerocash. Zcash has its own blockchain, uses proof-of-work just like Bitcoin, and there will never be more than 21 million coins. The big difference: payments can be shielded, so the sender, recipient and amount aren't publicly visible. When you mine Zcash, you're helping keep that network running.
A Z15 Pro pulls 2,780 watts continuously and sounds like a vacuum cleaner that never stops. That is fine in a garage with cheap power. It is not fine in a flat. The rough line: below about $0.10/kWh, running it yourself usually wins. Above that — or once an electrical upgrade, cooling and noise control start costing you $500 to $800 — hosting is normally the cheaper answer. We run our own sites with their own substations, so you are not renting space in someone else’s rented space.
